Information

Classrooms often reflect a university’s values, standards and expectations. Effectively designed classrooms communicate desired performance levels to both students and faculty.

Recent surveys indicate what faculty and students find satisfactory and unsatisfactory about Syracuse University classrooms. Typically, SU classrooms vary in design, capacities and capabilities. The variety of classrooms reflects the breadth of the University’s curricula and rich history. The University will continue to focus on the learning environment as it moves towards its goal of becoming a nationally renowned student-centered research university. The challenges will be to renovate existing classrooms while maintaining the university’s architectural integrity, while introducing new technologies, while responding to changing teaching and learning styles.

At Syracuse University, there are classrooms overseen by academic departments and others scheduled by the Registrar’s office. This website focues on those classrooms controlled by the Registrar’s Office and provides information regarding:

Design specifications
Technology levels and maintenance
Scheduling procedures for these classrooms
Maintenance and renovation of these rooms
The Classroom Committee
In addition, you will find useful links to various units across campus responsible for maintaining, scheduling and updating Registrar classrooms.
